Update from McKinley 11.10.2025

I wanted to share an update since so many of you have kindly asked to stay in the loop.

Right now, we’re still in the stage of meeting with doctors and gathering information to create a final treatment plan. There are a lot of moving pieces, and while we don’t have all the answers yet, we’re taking things one step at a time and feeling grateful for the support around us.

Medical Update:

I have met with potential surgeons, and the next step is a few more tests and surgery.

I know many of you have asked about the stage of my cancer. Currently, we do not know and moving forward once that is discovered I’ve chosen not to share that. Every experience is different, and no matter the stage, cancer is difficult and there are approaches and treatments to consider.

How I’m Feeling:

Immense amount of gratitude for the outpouring of love and encouragement!! I am also feeling very anxious about the many possibilities, paths to take and outcomes to follow. I have decided that the best course of action for me is to stay off of google and AI and choose to trust the wonderful care team/professionals who have my specific medical information to answer my questions and share information as it becomes relevant. I am focusing on doing what I can to gain strength for whatever the next step is.

Rose and Thorn:

In herbalism, I’ve learned that roses symbolize both beauty and protection- their beautiful petals soften, soothe, and heal, while their thorns remind us of boundaries, pain and resilience. I’ll be including “Roses & Thorns” in each update as a way to honor both the blessings and the challenges along this path.

Rose:

Thank you for all the messages and prayers. Your words bring comfort and courage.

Everyone we’ve encountered so far, from front desk staff to nurses and doctors, has been incredibly kind. Their patience and care have brought so much comfort in the midst of uncertainty.

Thorn:

The initial shock was intense, and the uncertainty that followed has been heavy to sit with.

What’s Next:

Finalization of the treatment plan and surgery

Thank you again for walking alongside me through this. I’ll send another update once we know more!

With love,

McKinley & The Hamilton Family
